Compact home. Lower demand. Simple fit.
A practical starting point for smaller households, cabins, ADUs, and homes with fewer fixtures running together.

Model Number: GX-UV-AE8 / AE12 / AE22
From one shower to a full-house morning rush, choose 8 GPM, 12 GPM, or 22 GPM to match the way your home actually uses water.
Add UV treatment where water enters your home, with a lamp-life display to help you track maintenance and clearly matched replacement parts for ongoing care.

Durable stainless-steel housing
Start with the way your family actually uses showers, faucets, laundry, and appliances together.
Then match that demand to measured peak flow and the required UV dose.

A practical starting point for smaller households, cabins, ADUs, and homes with fewer fixtures running together.

A common whole-house starting point when showers, faucets, and appliances share the morning rush.

For larger homes, higher peak flow, multiple bathrooms, or selected light-commercial demand.
Final sizing should be based on measured peak flow and the required UV dose.
Compare the three models side by side. Flow ratings change with the target UV dose, so use the applicable dose row when sizing the system.

Water moves through the stainless-steel chamber while the UV lamp emits 254 nm ultraviolet light through a quartz sleeve.
Clear-looking water doesn’t tell the whole story. A properly sized and maintained UV system adds a microbial treatment step at your home’s main water line. Use your water test results to determine what other treatment your home may need.
Review operating status, lamp-life reminders, and fault alerts as part of routine system checks.

GX-UV-AE Series with three model-specific reactor lengths and power levels.
| Dose | GX-UV-AE8 | GX-UV-AE12 | GX-UV-AE22 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 mJ/cm² | 8 | 12 | 22 |
| 40 mJ/cm² | 6 | 9 | 17 |
Choose AE8, AE12, or AE22 by your home’s peak water flow and required UV dose. Use the flow table alongside your water-quality results to compare models.

Max. Pressure: 0.8 MPa
Pre-filtration recommended.
Microorganisms should be grouped by type rather than treated as interchangeable product claims.
Required UV dose and resulting flow capacity vary by target organism, water quality, and operating conditions.
At 75% UVT, the current sizing table lists 30 mJ/cm² flow ratings of 8 / 12 / 22 GPM for AE8 / AE12 / AE22, and 40 mJ/cm² ratings of 6 / 9 / 17 GPM.
Choose the model from the required dose and measured peak flow; do not select from an organism name alone. These are reference examples within the bacterial category. Susceptibility and required dose vary by organism and test conditions.
Public UV guidance treats protozoa as a separate target group. Required dose should be evaluated for the actual application and operating conditions.
Virus targets must be evaluated separately. Some viruses require substantially higher UV doses than many common bacteria or protozoa.
Spores and other resistant targets can require higher UV doses. Target-specific sizing and validation matter.
Use a current water test and source-water assessment to identify the microbiological concern and relevant pretreatment needs.
Delivered UV dose depends on flow, UV transmittance, water clarity, lamp output, chamber condition, and maintenance. Pretreatment may be necessary.
GX-UV-AE model flow ratings are dose-specific sizing data. The organism names shown here are educational treatment categories and reference examples, not model-specific certification claims.
Jump to official UV reference data ↓EPA’s UV Disinfection Guidance Manual lists regulatory reference doses for public-water UV validation. The values show why target organism and required dose matter when sizing a 254 nm UV system. They are not direct performance ratings for the GX-UV-AE Series.
| Target group | 1-log dose | 4-log dose |
|---|---|---|
| Cryptosporidium | ≥ 2.5 mJ/cm² | ≥ 22 mJ/cm² |
| Giardia | ≥ 2.1 mJ/cm² | ≥ 22 mJ/cm² |
| Virus | ≥ 58 mJ/cm² | ≥ 186 mJ/cm² |
Within the cited EPA framework, 1-log corresponds to 90% inactivation credit and 4-log to 99.99%. See the full guidance for scope, validation requirements, interpolation limits, and operating conditions.

Request Maintenance InstructionsIt adds a whole-house ultraviolet disinfection stage to the main water line. Water passes through an SS304 chamber around a quartz sleeve while a 254 nm lamp provides UV treatment.
Start with measured peak flow and the required UV dose. AE8 is the lower-flow option, AE12 is the common residential starting point, and AE22 supports higher simultaneous demand.
No. UV does not reduce total dissolved solids, hardness, scale, chlorine, sediment, or dissolved chemicals.
No. UV treats water as it passes through the chamber and does not leave a disinfectant residual downstream.
The selected system includes the model-specific chamber, lamp, quartz sleeve, seals, controller, power components, and mounting hardware.
The GX-UV-AE8, AE12, and AE22 are rated at 8, 12, and 22 GPM respectively, based on a UV dose of 30 mJ/cm² at 75% UVT. Confirm the required dose and measured peak flow for your application.
The listed maximum working pressure is 0.8 MPa. Confirm actual pressure, surge conditions, and local installation requirements.
Yes. UV output declines with lamp age. Follow the model-specific replacement schedule and keep the quartz sleeve clean.
Install after suitable pretreatment in a dry, protected location with power access, a bypass, and enough service clearance.
Yes. The controller and UV lamp require a compatible electrical supply.
Yes. Those components address different water-treatment or protection needs and can be planned as part of the complete system.
Confirm water source, water-test results, measured peak flow, required UV dose, pipe connection, pressure, voltage, and installation photos.
Complete Glonyx systems, including the GX-UV-AE housing and controller, carry a 3-year limited warranty from the documented purchase date. Separately sold Glonyx parts and accessories carry a 1-year limited warranty against verified defects in materials or workmanship. Normal wear, depletion, scheduled replacement, and small consumable hardware not sold separately are excluded. See our warranty policy for coverage and exclusions.
Replace the UV lamp once a year. We recommend cleaning the quartz sleeve surface when replacing the lamp.
