Why UV matters

Some waterborne pathogens are harder for chlorine to control.

Chlorine remains useful against many microorganisms and can provide residual protection. However, resistant parasites such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia may be less responsive to chlorine. A correctly sized UV-C lamp system adds a physical inactivation barrier as water passes through the chamber.

Performance depends on delivered UV dose, peak flow, UVT, turbidity, and maintenance. UV does not leave a disinfectant residual.
